Spider Veins
Spider veins, also known as telangiectasias, are thin veins that sit just under the surface of the skin. They are often red or purple in colour and have a web-like appearance.
They appear when valves within your veins malfunction, allowing blood to flow in the opposite direction, away from your heart. The blood, moving in the ‘wrong’ direction, can back up and lead to compromised veins, hence the appearance of these blue/red lines.

The Treatment
The Excel®V+ laser is the newest and most advanced laser for treating unwanted veins. It uses a high-power laser that is absorbed by the abnormal blood vessels in the skin. The laser heats those abnormal vessels causing the vein walls to collapse and seal shut. Over time, the treated vessels will no longer be visible.
The number of treatments you’ll need will depend on the size and thickness of your spider veins, though most patients will see an improvement after just one or two treatments!
